  Last year, the decorative lighting of such iconic objects as the National Library of Belarus, the Dynamo Stadium, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, the Gates of Minsk architectural complex, the Belarusian State Circus and others was turned off for 1 hour only in the capital.

  Turning off the lights for one hour reduces harmful emissions into the Earth's atmosphere and gives every caring person the opportunity to contribute to saving energy and preserving the climate of our planet. 

  The purpose of Earth Hour is not to save electricity. The action is a symbol of respect for nature.
