Version for the visually impaired
On City Day, representatives of the Minsk city organization NGO "Belaya Rus" together with activists of the Leninsky district organization paid tribute to the memory of the defenders and liberators of the capital.
This monument is one of the main symbols of the courage and perseverance of Minsk residents during the Great Patriotic War. The obelisk with the Eternal Flame commemorates the heroic deeds of those who defended the freedom and independence of our Motherland at the cost of their lives.
"Today we pay tribute to those who gave us a peaceful sky. It is our duty to preserve this memory and pass it on to future generations. Minsk is a hero city, and we are proud to live here," the participants noted.
