April 12 is the day when man first conquered space. This date is special for Belarus: our country rightfully has the status of a space power.

Natives of the Belarusian land
And it all started with legendary names: Peter Klimuk (the first Belarusian in space), Vladimir Kovalenok (the first Belarusian in outer space) and Oleg Novitsky (four flights, 545 days in orbit).
In 1978, two of our countrymen, Klimuk and Kovalenok, met at the Salyut-6 station. When opening the hatch, Kovalenok said, "Come in, countryman!"We are proud of our heroes and believe in new stellar achievements.
