In order to raise the level of safety culture among the population, the Ministry of Emergency Situations organized the already traditional national fire prevention campaign to prevent fires and deaths from them in the housing stock during the autumn-winter fire hazard period "For Safety Together" from October 14 to 30. The events will be joined by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Energy, and the Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society.
During the campaign, the emphasis will be on examining the fire safety status of homes of single and elderly citizens living alone, disabled people, families in which children are in a socially dangerous situation, conducting instructional and explanatory work with them on compliance with fire safety rules, as well as informing the population about the capabilities of government organizations to provide services to ensure their safety.
IMPORTANT: As part of the campaign, anyone can contact the territorial bodies and emergency response units to conduct an inspection of the fire safety status of their home.
Also, rescuers will teach housing and communal services workers, as well as workers providing social and medical assistance at home, the basics of life safety, measures to prevent fires and other emergencies, as well as actions in the event of their occurrence.
We remind you that in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, responsibility for compliance with fire safety requirements in residential buildings owned by citizens on the right of private ownership rests with their owners. Therefore, check the functionality of autonomous fire alarms, and if they are missing, install them in the living quarters of the household. Pay attention to the serviceability of heating equipment and electrical wiring. Do not leave children without adult supervision.
Take part in the campaign and be safe!
